Fluoride pollution mainly affects : -
A
Brain
B
Heart
C
Teeth
D
Kidney
Detailed Solution
Fluoride is present naturally in the groundwater of some regions (in India, parts of Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and others).
In small amounts (about 1 ppm) it protects teeth from decay, but excess fluoride (above about 1.5 ppm) causes fluorosis.
The first and most common effect is dental fluorosis: mottling, brown staining and pitting of the tooth enamel. Higher levels also cause skeletal fluorosis (stiff joints, bone deformities).
So fluoride pollution mainly affects the teeth (and bones).
