During transcription, if the nucleotide sequence of the DNA strand that is being coded is ATACG, then the nucleotide sequence in the mRNA would be -
A TCTGG
B UAUGC
C UATGC
D TATGC

Detailed Solution

In transcription, mRNA is made complementary to the DNA strand that is being read (the template strand).
Base pairing rules: DNA A pairs with RNA U, DNA T pairs with RNA A, DNA G pairs with RNA C, DNA C pairs with RNA G. RNA contains uracil (U) in place of thymine (T).
Template DNA: A T A C G
mRNA: U A U G C
So the mRNA sequence would be UAUGC. (Sequences containing T cannot be RNA.)
