If the apical bud has been removed then we observe :
A More lateral branches
B More axillary buds
C Plant growth stops
D Flowering stops

Detailed Solution

The apical bud produces auxin, which moves down and suppresses the growth of the lateral (axillary) buds. This is apical dominance.
When the apical bud is removed (decapitation), the auxin supply stops, the axillary buds grow out, and the plant forms more lateral branches.
This is used in hedge making and tea plantations.
So we observe more lateral branches.
