Solution

Phytochrome is a bluish, proteinaceous plant pigment that exists in two interconvertible forms.
$P_r$ absorbs red light (about 660 nm) and changes into $P_{fr}$; $P_{fr}$ absorbs far-red light (about 730 nm) and changes back into $P_r$.
$P_r \underset{\text{far-red}}{\overset{\text{red}}{\rightleftharpoons}} P_{fr}$
It controls flowering (photoperiodism), seed germination and other light responses.
So the pigment that absorbs red and far-red light is phytochrome.
