In the male frog, the vasa efferentia from the testis enter the kidney and open into Bidder's canal, which finally communicates with the ureter. So the ureter of the male frog carries both urine and sperms; it acts as a urinogenital duct and opens into the cloaca. In the female frog the ureters and the oviducts open separately into the cloaca, so the ureters carry only urine. In humans the ureters carry only urine from the kidney to the urinary bladder in both sexes; in human males it is the urethra that is the common urinogenital passage. Hence ureters act as urinogenital ducts in male frogs.
