Which one of the following pairs is mismatched -Nuclear power plants produce radioactive wastes, which are very harmful and must be stored safely; correctly matched.
Burning of fossil fuels (coal, petroleum) releases large amounts of $CO_2$; correctly matched.
Burning of biomass (wood, crop residues, dung) also releases $CO_2$; correctly matched.
Solar energy is a clean, non-polluting, renewable source of energy. Using it does not release greenhouse gases, so it does not cause the greenhouse effect.
(The greenhouse effect is caused by gases such as $CO_2$, $CH_4$, CFCs and $N_2O$ trapping the heat radiated by the earth.)
So the mismatched pair is solar energy - greenhouse effect.
