Solution

In the light reaction, light energy absorbed by chlorophyll is converted into chemical energy in the form of ATP (by photophosphorylation) and NADPH.
These are used in the dark reaction (Calvin cycle) to reduce $CO_2$ to carbohydrate: 3 ATP and 2 NADPH are used for each $CO_2$ fixed.
ADP is the low-energy form returned to the light reaction; RuDP is the $CO_2$ acceptor; chlorophyll only traps light.
So energy is transferred from the light reaction to the dark reaction in the form of ATP (along with NADPH).
