Which one of the following methods is commonly used for destruction of colloid :Colloidal particles are stable because they carry the same charge and repel each other.
When an electrolyte is added, its oppositely charged ions neutralise the charge on the particles. The particles then come together and settle down (coagulation), i.e. the colloid is destroyed.
The coagulating power increases with the charge on the ion (Hardy–Schulze rule).
Dialysis is used to purify colloids, and condensation is a method of preparing them.
So colloids are commonly destroyed by adding an electrolyte.
