Out of the following which one is not a possible energy for a photon to be emitted by hydrogen atom according to Bohr's atomic model?Energy levels of hydrogen: $E_n = -\frac{13.6}{n^2}$ eV, i.e., $E_1 = -13.6$, $E_2 = -3.4$, $E_3 = -1.51$, $E_4 = -0.85$, $E_5 = -0.54$ eV, ... $E_\infty = 0$.
A photon is emitted only with an energy equal to the difference of two levels.
13.6 eV: $E_\infty - E_1 = 0 - (-13.6) = 13.6$ eV, possible.
1.9 eV: $E_3 - E_2 = -1.51 + 3.4 = 1.89$ eV, possible.
0.65 eV: $E_4 - E_3 = -0.85 + 1.51 = 0.66$ eV, possible.
11.1 eV: transitions to n = 1 give 10.2 eV (from n = 2) and 12.09 eV (from n = 3); no pair of levels differs by 11.1 eV.
Hence 11.1 eV is not a possible photon energy.
