Seed

In pea the endosperm is completely used up by the developing embryo, so the seed is non-albuminous.
Maize, wheat and castor seeds retain endosperm and are albuminous.

Perisperm is the residual, persistent nucellus, which is diploid (2n).
Endosperm in angiosperms is triploid.
