The product formed from the following reaction sequence is
$C_6H_5-CN \xrightarrow{LiAlH_4,\ H_2O} C_6H_5-CH_2-NH_2$ (benzylamine) $C_6H_5-CH_2-NH_2 \xrightarrow{NaNO_2 + HCl} C_6H_5-CH_2-N_2^+Cl^-$ (unstable aliphatic-type diazonium salt) It loses $N_2$ to give the benzyl carbocation, which reacts with water: $C_6H_5-CH_2^+ \xrightarrow{H_2O} C_6H_5-CH_2-OH$ So the product is benzyl alcohol.
