Cellular totipotency is demonstrated by :-Totipotency is the ability of a single cell to divide and develop into a complete organism.
It was first demonstrated in plants by F.C. Steward (carrot phloem cells) and is the basis of plant tissue culture: any living plant cell with a nucleus, from almost any part of the plant (explant), can regenerate a whole plant on a suitable medium.
In animals, most differentiated cells lose this ability; only the zygote and very early embryonic cells are totipotent. So totipotency is not a property of all eukaryotic cells.
It is not limited to gymnosperms, and bacteria are single-celled organisms to which the term does not apply in this sense.
So cellular totipotency is demonstrated by all plant cells.
