Reason why hair loss is more in old age :Hair grows from hair follicles in the dermis, which need nourishment from the blood capillaries of the dermal papilla.
With age, the blood supply to the skin and scalp decreases, so the follicles get less nourishment, shrink, and produce thinner hair or stop producing it.
So, as per the answer key, hair loss in old age is due to reduction of blood supply.
