In oogamy fertilization involves -Sexual reproduction is classified according to the size and motility of the fusing gametes.
Isogamy: gametes similar in size (e.g. Ulothrix, Spirogyra).
Anisogamy: gametes dissimilar in size (e.g. some species of Chlamydomonas).
Oogamy: fusion between a large, non-motile (static) female gamete (egg) and a smaller, motile male gamete (sperm), e.g. Volvox, Fucus, and also higher plants and animals.
So in oogamy, fertilisation involves a large non-motile female gamete and a small motile male gamete.
