In the diagram, a strong bar magnet is moving towards solenoid-2 from solenoid-1. The direction of induced current in solenoid-1 and that in solenoid-2, respectively, are through the directions:
A AB and CD
B BA and DC
C AB and DC
D BA and CD

The answer is C.

Solution

According to Lenz's law, the induced current opposes the change in magnetic flux through each solenoid. The magnet is moving away from solenoid-1, so the induced current in solenoid-1 tries to attract the receding pole: current flows through AB. The magnet is approaching solenoid-2, so the induced current in solenoid-2 tries to repel the approaching pole: current flows through DC. So the directions are AB and DC respectively.
